scattering amoebic shapes onto surfaces


casting patterns onto glistening darkish bodies

live canvases of honey-amber flesh collapsed upon flesh,


adhered with sweat we are sticky-candy


in communion on the dancefloor            then

hovering in stillness

factual sooner than the beat

to greet dusk at the altar of shorelines.

Allow us to meet there


months and years from now — months and years in the past


wherever you in actuality feel safe


radiant in the day            enveloped by evening


your pores and skin wrapped in heat


cooled by a lag that hints at spring

factor in the time


once we can quickly be collectively


again.
